Deborah Altman is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#149113) and received her M.S. from the University of Southern California. Her therapeutic approach is warm, gentle yet direct, and holistic, effectively combining psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral techniques to address and heal anxiety, depression, and trauma/PTSD.
With a focus on building resilience, Deborah provides practical day-to-day tools to help her clients navigate challenges. She specializes in working with deeply feeling girls and women through all life stages, regularly navigating topics such as difficult transitions, relationships, stress, body-image, and boundary setting.
Deborah is committed to guiding individuals through their journey of self-discovery, fostering a positive self-image, and promoting a healthy sense of self-worth. Her approach is tailored to empower clients, helping them overcome self-doubt and embrace their true selves with confidence.
Previously, Deborah worked at Children’s Institute in Los Angeles, where she supported families throughout the region and received training in systems-based approaches to healing. She also spent two years at the National Institutes of Health, studying early predictors of eating disorders and treatment strategies.
